Import terminology can be confusing. For clarity, please refer to the following definitions:
- Attributes: Attributes are the data fields associated with the profiles in your Organizer Universe. The Organizer Data Dictionary provides definitions and other helpful information for each of the attributes available in Organizer.
- Custom Attributes: Custom Attributes are the data fields that you add to the profiles in your Organizer Universe.
- Data Field: In each CSV file you use to import data, each data field (i.e., column) represents a data field associated with the records you are importing.
- Import: Importing means uploading external data to your Organizer account in the form of CSV files.
- Mapping:When you correlate the data fields in your CSV to Organizer attributes, it is called Mapping.
- Matching: Matching refers to how Organizer merges profiles that likely describe the same person and enhances profiles with Atlas by Murmuration data.
- Profile: A profile is post-import; it exists in Organizer and often represents the integration/merging of many different sources.
- Profile ID: The profile ID is the unique identifier for a single profile in your account. The profile ID numbers are assigned during the process of importing profile records whether they are records provisioned for your account or profile data that you import.
- Profile ID Matching: Profile ID Matching is the process by which Organizer attempts to match your imported data with the relevant profiles in your account based on Profile ID.
- Record: In each CSV file you use to import data, each record (i.e., row) in the sheet represents a person; it is a pre-import “profile.” The records from your imported CSV file become profiles in Organizer when your import is successfully completed. Some records may have matched to existing profiles while others may have created new profiles.
