With Global Values, you can apply the same value for an attribute to all imported records during import. You would use a global value if there is an attribute that is the same about all records in your file. This is particularly useful for attributes that are required for an import, for any field which has a static set of value options, such as state and zip code, or for values that have prerequisites.
Note:
- You can’t apply Global Values to fields that ought to be individual, such as a person's name or address.
- Currently, the only Custom Attribute types to which you can apply Global Values are tags, which have a True/False value.
To apply Global Values during import, follow these steps:
- During import, go to the Global Values tab and click Add Global Value.
- Make your selection from the available attributes.
